What We Do
1-800-Plumbing Pros is a plumbing referral service. When you call us, we connect you with an independent plumbing contractor serving your area.
We are not a plumbing company. We don’t own trucks, we don’t employ plumbers, and we never show up at your door. What we do is answer the phone — at 2 a.m. on a Sunday if that’s when your pipe bursts — and route you to a contractor in our partner network who takes that kind of job in your ZIP code.
The call is free. There’s no obligation. The contractor quotes you directly, and if you don’t like the price, you walk away owing nobody anything.
Why This Exists
Finding a plumber when you actually need one is worse than it should be.
Something breaks at an inconvenient hour. You start searching. You call the first listing — no answer. Second one — voicemail. Third one — they don’t cover your area, or they don’t do that kind of work, or they can’t come until Thursday. Meanwhile there’s water on your floor.
The information problem is real: you don’t know which contractors in your area take emergency calls, who handles sewer work versus fixture repair, or who’s actually available right now. That knowledge exists, but it isn’t organized anywhere a homeowner can reach in a hurry.
That’s the gap this fills. One number, one call, and we do the sorting.
How We Work
We operate as a lead generation and referral service. When you call, your request is routed through our contractor network to a plumbing professional serving your area.
We’re paid by contractors, not by you. Our compensation comes from participating contractors and network partners who receive referrals. Calling us is free, and we don’t add anything to what the contractor charges.
We think you should know that. Any referral service that doesn’t tell you how it makes money is hiding something.
What We Don’t Do
We want to be straight about our limits, because a lot of services in this space aren’t.
We don’t verify licenses. Contractors reach us through partner networks. They’re responsible for their own licensing, insurance, and bonding. We recommend you verify a contractor’s license and insurance before authorizing work — most states have a free online lookup, and it takes two minutes.
We don’t set prices or guarantee them. The contractor quotes you directly. We have no say in it and can’t promise a rate.
We don’t guarantee the work. We aren’t a party to your agreement with the contractor. Workmanship, warranties, and disputes are between you and them.
We can’t promise arrival times. How fast someone reaches you depends on the contractor, their schedule, and where you are.
The Guides
Alongside the referral service, we publish plain-English answers to plumbing questions homeowners actually search for — what’s urgent, what can wait, what things cost, and when a problem genuinely needs a professional.
Some plumbing problems don’t need anyone. If a guide saves you a service call, that’s a good outcome. And when it turns out you do need a pro, you know where to find one.

I’m not a plumber and I don’t claim to be. I built this because the process of finding a contractor in an emergency is broken in a way that seemed fixable, and because a referral service that’s honest about what it is seemed like something worth building in a category full of services that aren’t.
